When exploring an area, you need a long-term renting of an RV lot to call home base. National state parks and campgrounds are not an option because you cannot stay there in one lot for more than 14 consecutive days. 

However, there are several great options for long term RV parks across the USA.

Privately-Owned Parks

Privately-owned RV parks and resorts frequently offer monthly rental rates, even if not advertised on their website. 

Give potential parks a call before your trip to inquire about extended stays. These parks often have more amenities than national parks, like trash management, electricity, Wi-Fi, pools, and clubhouses.

Luxury RV Resorts

Most of these resorts offer long term RV lots for rent, but spots book up quickly with waitlists of years. 

You have to plan well in advance if you want to stay at a high-end resort. The tradeoff is top-notch facilities and activities.

KOA Campgrounds

KOA makes long-term RV parking easy with nightly, monthly, and seasonal options. Choose from sites suited to any budget like basic Holiday parks or full-amenity Resorts. There are plenty of KOA locations across the countryside, so finding one near your desired location is easy.

1. Redwoods KOA (Crescent City, California)

The Redwoods KOA is truly a special place if you love the idea of living amid some towering redwood trees. What makes this RV park so great is that you get to live in a forest with amenities like full hookups. 

The spacious sites are nestled between the giant redwoods, giving you views of the majestic trees from your campsite. But you don’t need to leave the park to see redwoods up close because there are nature trails winding throughout the 10 acres of campground forest. Kids and adults alike love exploring the trails and spotting wildlife. 

The park is also close to the beaches and lighthouses in Crescent City. You can visit the hiking trails of the Redwood National and State Parks during the day then relax back at the shady sites in the evenings. Friendly staff make your stay more enjoyable at this gem of an RV resort.

2. Winding River Resort (Grand Lake, Colorado)

Winding River Resort is one of the most unique and enjoyable RV parks we’ve ever visited. The animal farm alone makes it worth a stay, with bunnies, goats, cows, and more to see each morning. But the horses are truly special and watching them graze or be wrangled is quite an experience. 

The location can’t be beat either. You’re just minutes from the beaches and activities of Grand Lake, or the trails of Rocky Mountain National Park right at the campground’s doorstep. 

Back at the park, there’s always something fun happening too. You can play softball, horseshoes, pickleball, and several other games. There’s also a pavilion for breakfasts and dinners, where you can socialize with other renters. 

3. Sunset Farm Seasonal RV Park (Dandridge, Tennessee)

Located just outside of Dandridge next to gorgeous Douglas Lake, the Sunset Farm offers spacious lots with generous 35 by 60 foot spaces. Staying here will cost $4,000 to $6,000 for a permanent one year lease. You’ll enjoy full hookups with electricity, water, sewer and professional landscaping, perfect for making the lot feel like a home away from home. 

Beyond the amenities, the park has a real sense of community. The occasional cookouts at the Party Barn are a nice way to socialize with neighbors. Being within walking distance of the lake and close to parks, dining, and Knoxville city makes Sunset Farm an ideal base for enjoying all the natural beauty and activities the region has to offer. 

4. Midway RV Park (Vacaville, California)

Midway RV Park in Vacaville makes a great long-term home for RVers. The small park has just 64 spacious sites, each with full utilities like satellite TV. Sites are easy for big rigs to navigate. 5. Aspen Grove RV Park (Tremonton, Utah)
